Orange Council

PURPOSE
The Council of Orange County of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides leadership, technical assistance, management training and resource development. This allows local Conferences to better devote their own resources to serving their communities. The Council seeks to develop and promote innovative strategies that address human needs and social justices. The Council responds to the Council of the United States in its focuses on economic justice, ending hunger and poverty in America, and the Society's response to natural disasters nationally and internationally.

A BREAK-OUT OF SOME OF THESE SERVICES

  • Provides and supplies resources relevant to programs, workshops, meetings
  • Plans or assists in the execution of national gatherings of the Society
  • Serves as a responsible steward for funds to victims of disasters nationally and internationally

HOW WE ARE SUPPORTED
The Council Orange County is primarily supported financially through grants, donations, and the small excess revenues generated by the Thrift stores throughout the county. There has been no tax on the local conference units since the Council was established.
